Got on the water before sunrise and they were already going at it same place as yesterday. Paddled like a madman, first cast fish on, w/ a Zoom. Next boil I threw a topwater at them and it didn't make it 10 feet. Little later, no boil, but i saw them on ff, so I drop Zoom down 20 feet or so and slowly paddle it around until it gets hit, which was a matter of seconds. By 8 o'clock they were pretty much done busting, I couldn't even see them on ff anymore. I met up with Dave and his buddy as we all were lured together by a small bust. I was off the water by 10.
Going for some Clear Lake trophies tomorrow. Did great there last week.
BTW, my buddy got 4 stripers yesterday evening.
Fish on.

I'm really starting to kick myself for fishing Mendo on Sunday between 9am and noon.  If I only got there earlier or stayed later.... but no, sounds like I managed to pick the stiper siesta time which is probably why I only caught a small largemouth.  At least now I have an excuse.

My buddy and I got a late start.   We didn't get bait until 8:30.  Then the car door slammed on my 8 ft. mooching rod and crunched it.  Now we are down to 1 rod for the both of us.  I let him fish first.  I talked with Juan while Clark trolled.  He trolled for 45 min to 1 hour until he hung it up on the bottom and lost the gear.  I retied and started trolling.  Saw a good bust over by the dam and ran for it.  It shut down by the time I got there but I made a loop and hooked a fiesty 9 lber.  I turned the rod over to Clark for another hour of relaxilng in the sun and then we called it a day.  Atleast it wasn't a skunk.  I caught my fish about 10:40.  We saw one more bust around 11 and left shortly after 12.  The wake boarders came out about then and we figured it was game over.

well you made the best of it, sorry to hear about your loss.  One time i was fishing up on the upper sacramento, it was dusk and this nice older guy was chatting with me and pops.  We noticed he had a really nice Sage rod, I commented on it and he got distracted while walking the trail ..  The tip stuck into the hill and snap!  He said the rod cost him right around $300 and it was his favorite!   :smt010   i felt bad..  but thats why I have my LL bean to beat the shat
out of..  Wouldnt it be nice if fishing gear was a write-off?   :smt004

yeah those wakeboarders will be in full force here soon..  :smt012
