Saw a vortex of large herring in the Oakland estuary yesterday. And a bird told me some butts are beginning to show up in Tomales Bay already. Thinking less rain this season might be good. So feeling motivated to see for myself. Want to find out if any bait is moving in. Anyone interested?

Hmmmm....almost no wind predicted for Saturday so far.....but it's a big outgoing tide all day.

Tough call. I'll let you know for sure as the week progresses, but I don't like that tide.

So Cal hali bite has really heated up, best in recent memory down there it sounds like. So hopefully things will pick up early here too. I don't think I can make it this week, but I will keep it open in the next coming weeks.

Yeah that tide sux. Although that can be nice for the drift. Tomales can get weird when there's too much current. Hmmm.

The wx forecast is so favorable. I'm thinking nicks cove/ hog island and inwards might still be ok.
