I plan on launching from Fort Baker at 7:00am.  The tide will be in the last part of ebb (outgoing tide) and should make going under the bridge easy.  I plan on coming in at noon which is in the middle of the flood (incoming tide) and again should make it easy.  If strong winds are predicted, I won't go.   I plan on taking a crab cage and soaking while I fish for stripers and perch.

Kirby Cove is the closest beach and Bonita Cove is 30-45 minutes out, but is much larger.  Last years I saw several pbs dropping crab nets.

I enjoy this trip as it give you a different view of the Marin Headlands and San Francisco.

Weather looks too rough to go.    Here is what NOAA says about Sunday.

Sun...NW winds 10 to 20 kt...increasing to 20 to 30 kt. Wind waves 3 to 8 ft. NW swell 9 to 11 ft.   Small Craft Warning.

I would be interested in joining you on a trip like this in the future. It was a good call to bail on this one. Was just out there last weekend teaching at the Golden Gate Sea Kayak Symposium. The winds can be a real pain in the afternoon.

This is a great trip in the right conditions, lots of species, but with the relentless wind most of the time, house-size swells, container ships that will run you down, an unbelievable tide and a rocky shore, it aint for the beginner, but lots of fun anyway, Ive done it a couple times, someone caught a 19 lb ling just inside the bridge and Ive limeted on Rockfish there too....wet suit, radio, company and planning are key here IMO...

I'll look at the tidelog and try to give you a week's notice and hope conditions allow us safe passage.  It really is an amazing trip.  So much visual stimulation.  My A.D.D. kicks in big time!

Im 100% in, wind is the main thing here... another option for the summer/hali season in launching on the incoming at Crissy, drifting to Alcatraz and landing with 3 halis. Another crazy but doable trip.

That's a bad ass trip right there. I'd love to do that.
