Grace is starting to take ALOT of interest in Kayaking and Yak fishing. Great Right? Now my only problem is I have to get her out there safely and in  style apparently. She's not super impressed with the sportmart waders. She's been super cool and i want to hook her up. So what do i do? Is there any one else out there who has ever had to gear up their lady counterpart? Any websites or anything cool that i don't know about? any info helps, and helps get me WAF and OTW :smt002

Thanks for clicking guys :smt006

Take her to California Canoe and Kayak in Oakland. They have large selection of women's gear.

I was there today and saw a lot of women and even couple's were shopping for kayak gear.  The dressing room was packed with women trying on everything you can imagine.  There's a gal that works there that can give her advice.

definitely make her check out women specific clothing.  The slight differences in cut go a  long way to making  ladies more comfortable on the water.

Most higher end wader companies are now providing womens cut waders. Simms for sure. A pair well fitting of gortex waders go a long way in out door comfort for a number of endevors.... You can use a little more style on the top if need be... :smt002

Ive bought about 99 percent of my wifes gear at clavey's in petaluma.. (thinking I may have bought a whistle somewhere else.. lol)   She does not fish much (YET) but has been paddling touring boats for years.   If shes on salt she has a 3 mil FJ and a couple different paddle jackets, fleece layers, rash guard,  neophrene booties.. way better vest than mine..  :smt003.   Hats with a wide brim are usually more important to her than to me and she also has a pair of formed paddling gloves if its cold.

She tends to get cold easily and that can cut the day short because it just isnt fun being cold, so best to be ready for anything!

One other thing you might think about is the paddle.. my wife noticed a HUGE difference in her endurance on the water when she upgraded to a nice lightweight werner paddle a few years ago.
