Been having health problems lately, never been through anything like this before so I have been taking it easy. My wife does not want me to go out alone, so I did not go out during the week at all. We caught a large bullfrog, a shad rap, the arm to a folding chair, several branches and 7 bass including one good one. The river was lower than I have seen it before, I bet it gets lower in the upcoming months due to the lack of snow in the mountains.  The water was chocolate milk and there was a strong breeze. Fishing heated up just after dark but we ended up tangling lines and calling it a night. Here are the pictures from today.

Stewart the frog (the wife named him)

First fish of the day caught on a Texas style Yum Dinger

I got snagged, when it came free I got a free lure

Just left the worm trail behind the canoe and it did the rest

Almost 4lbs on the digital scale, best fish of the day

Great day to get out despite the wind.

I got dark and hard to see, I cast over the wife's head and she accidentally reeled my line into her spinning reel. A fish hit my lure while I attempted to untangle it but it got away. We paddled back to the truck in the dark.

If any of you want to meet up and fish this stretch of the river shoot me a PM. I can get out just about anytime until I get this job I am after.

Dan, liked your report and pics. Looked like good times, fishin' with your wife, catchn' fish and meeting a new friend.  Did you invite Stewart to dinner after the trip for a little grill and beer???

No Russ, in fact the wife wanted to take Stu hoe as a pet. I talked her out of it, sighting the wide open spaces make a better home than a cramped aquarium.  :smt001

The King is my local haunt, there will be many reports from here to come. I wouldn't say I know it yet though I have never been skunked on it yet. Been skunked at Pine Flats, and Success though. I would like to join you on the San Jaquin, I hear it is a nice little fishery.

Where on the King's River is this?   I used to waterski from 99 up to Reedley Beach.  We used to kill the trout drift fishing there with salmon eggs when we got worn out skiing.  It has been years since I have been there.
