I was going to just tack this onto RockHopper and Bob's report, but given the quality of their fish I didn't want to rain on their parade with our dinks.  Jim and I did basically everything that RockHopper and Bob did except catch big stripers.

The weather was amazing... 83 F air/70 F surface water, little to no wind, and a clear sunny sky.  It was so nice to fish in my shorts and t-shirt agian.  That and the fact that I finally managed to make it out in my kayak for the first time this year made the trip worth while even if I didn't catch a striper (I'm now 0 for 6 for stripers on Lake Mendo).  Oh,  I did catch a 14 1/2 inch largemouth to make it on the NCKA Anger of the Year board with some points.  I realize it's a pretty small bass, but I don't do much freshwater fishing and I don't think I'll be able to fish as much this year so I'm taking the 116 points.

Jim managed two stripers each about 10 inches in length.  Sorry Jim, even the fishsniffer pose won't help you on this one.

Hey, at least none of us got skunked!

Looks like something big tried to eat your LM from that 1st picture. Did you notice that?

I catch A LOT of perch and greenling from the jetty with those kinds of marks. You can tell they've had tussles with lings in the past.

In Loving Memory of Mooch, Eelmaster, Shicken, and Cabeza De Martillo

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

Yeah, I saw that mark on the large mouth.  I grew up in Upstate New York and we'd see that kind of thing all the time and we usually attributed it to Northern Pike.   Not sure what happened to this fish...I suppose it could have been a bird or something...either way  I'm sure lying on the deck of my kayak for a few moments will be yet another traumatic event in this fishes life.

BTW, nice stripers.  Good luck in the tourney next week, I won't be able to make it.
