What cool stuff did you get for Christmas???

My sun gave me 5 beanie..he says no more sunburn head dad you look scary and one of the best gift I got was from OKUMA..I sent out my broken M7.6 Baidarka which is a little stiff for me, so ask if I can get ML7.6 the customer service says he will see what he can do..and BAM got ML in the mail baby thanks OKUMA!!

I got the GF a Go Pro and all the the stuff with it.  She in turn got me half a road bike.  We then went back east to see my folks who had not seen me for the holidays since I deployed (I was  home for 3-4 days back in 04, got on a plane and went to Iraq shortly there after), so family was stoked to see me.  I got my B-law a very nice used Squidder (he Canoe fishes a lot of places back east), My nephew got a very nice Penn 99 in mint condition to match up with his tricked out Jigmaster. So he and his GF can go together in Dads canoe.  Parents gave me a gift certificate for BPS so I see a FF on the horizon.

I got lots of time with my one year old and my parents!. fishing wise I asked for a lefthand levelwind for ocean fishing. Expecting somethng modest, I got an Okuma Solterra with lever drag!

Need to put on my smart hat and figure out how to use the lever drag. The "english" version of instructions was both vague and contradictory. Me needum heap big how to video on YouTube

I didnt get any fishing related goodies ,but i got a Samsung 46'  smart tv that ill be able to watch your videos on the big screen as soon as i hook up the Wifi.

I sincerely and truly hope this is the last year anyone in our family over the age of 31.5 years old exchanges/expects gifts.  I know that seems grinchy, but seriously, the excess and waste that I saw (and participated in somewhat) now make me a lil sad.   Also, call me a conspiracy theorist, but I think my in-laws gifts are the dad's furtive attempts at perpetuating his patriarchal grip over his wedded daughter.

More of a present to myself, but got the approval from the wifey. Picked up a 96 Ford F250 long bed.I love the size of this thing. Now I dont have to haul my yak on top of my tacoma which is a pain in the a$$. On the other hand, I promised the wifey I'd use it to do all the home renovations/remodels this year, win-win.
