Hello all, I just joined your club. I have lived in Half Moon Bay for most of my life. I sold my last boat 5 years ago, but have fished these waters for 30 years, and know them well. I bought my yak in September, so could only focus on ling and rock cod. One flat day I was out off Mavericks in 40 f.o.w. All of a sudden a splash that literally sounded like a car dropped from a helicopter blew up the water maybe 70 yards from me. I have seen many whales breach, normally they resurface shortly for air, this didn't happen. Never knew what it was, but aren't afraid to say it  scared the bejeezees out of me. I guess the point is since I was alone, am looking forward to having some company out there.

Welcome to the club! Here you find all sorts of characters and mischievious devils who love to fish and camp and party. What kind of kayak did you buy? There are a lot of guys who fish out of HMB during the year.

Very interesting kayak until I looked at the specs ; 120 pounds ! As I am getting older I find even my OK Scrambler is a wrestling match and doubtful that it weighs 45 lbs. as advertised ? You got it on a trailer and launch it like a boat ?

A buddy of mine has been telling me about these kayaks for over a year.  Looks pretty cool and fast, but the weight would definitely be an issue if your loading and unloading by yourself.

I own two of them and although heavy to lift they are fishing machines on the water.
