Well with your talent kat, u should have no problem finding bass at Berry. :smt003...Berry is loaded with bass and their literally everywhere. A good place to start is campell cove. Its a free launchand its a short paddle to bassy waters/ structure. When do you plan on fishing it? And for one who works at Fishermans warehouse, I would think you would have all the intel you could get!!...If your gonna fish berry soon, i would fish deep, like 20+ and around rocks where the sun is shining on if any. Use your FF to find rocky structures and fishing main lake points wont hurt either. If u want almost for sure action, split shot large minnows. If your using lures, either spoon jigs, dropshot small 4in. shad pattern worms, or split shot them. And work them slooooowww! I mean like, just drag them on or near the bottom with barely any movement. Be patient, the water is cold now! And bring a spare trout rod just in case, there everywhere out there too! Goodluck and hope this helps, Ricci.

Like Riccci said ......if the bass aren't biting that good be ready to switch to trolling for trout. Can really save your day if the bass are on lockdown to hook up with some feisty trout or salmon. Good Luck! jim

Anyone know if there is bait/minnows anywhere close to Berry?  Google's only coming up with a spot in Winters, CA and its the wrong direction for where I'm headding...  Be coming up through Vallejo and Napa.  Anyone know of a spot around there to pick up bait?

Al - call the store at Spanish Flat at Berryessa, they might have some.  There's a fishing store in Winters that carrys them, but they only had small ones last time I was in there a month or so ago - might call them to see what they have now.  If you go to Winters check out the trophy crappie they have mounted on the wall behind the cash register. I have heard of a place in Napa (Sweeney's ?) that carries minnnows but they don't open till 0900.  That's all I know out about that way, unless you come to West Sac or Freeport.  Maybe there are other options if you come up through the East Bay/West Delta.  Good luck.  What day you planning to go?

Oak shore has pretty good bass fishing especially for the kayaks.  They have carry-in ramp & 5mph zone around the islands, so you & fish are pretty protected.  It has bunch of coves and up & down underwater structures.  All three species can be caught there too!

Spanish Flat has small (they call medium) minnows too.  Mostly good for trout & salmon.
I think Guns Fishing & Other Stuff http://www.gunsfishing.com/bait_w.html in Vacaville has bait but you should call to make sure.

Have many been succesful at making bait with those little minnow traps there? I realize it's a time consuming event, but maybe throw lures while a trap soaks? That is, if you don't or can't locate a bait shop.
