Striped Bass in Shadow Cliffs

Wow!  I fished Shadow Cliffs A LOT so I was surprised to read about this. http://www.norcalfishingnews.com/stories/shadow_cliffs_produces_record_striped_bass?id=477

 

Interesting!  The head on the fish looks a little funny, maybe because it had been laying in the dirt?

Three of us NCKAers were there at the fish cleaning station when he brought it up.  I wouldn't have believed it  if I didn't see it with my own eyes.  He checked the stomach of the striper and it was empty.

Hey Steve!  It's too bad he didn't release it. I wonder if there's more?

An 18# LMB and a 20# catfish have been caught here.  There are huge fish in that small lake.

Wow, I almost wouldn't believe it if another NCKA'er wasn't there. He should have let the thing go though! Probably had enough mercury to kill a guy in there!
