Here's a video from my vacation in Maui earlier this month. It's from several days, one day shot with a Flip HD in a housing but most with a GoPro with the water correcting housing. Now I'm dying to get out there and do some spearfishing. Was surprised to see a guy spearfishing at one reef, ran into him after a long dive when his gun slid into view.

Wow...the water looks clear and "warm"  :smt003  Thanks for sharing the video clip Sean.

Cool video, thanks for sharing.
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

That was cool when you went through the tunnel. What setting was your GoPro on during filming?

Brah! What a great dive you had there. Looks like global warming is taking it's toll on that reef. Awesome video Sean!

I had the camera mounted on my wrist which I would not recommend. I would think I had the subject centered but was often shooting high placing the action really low on the frame. I need to look into a head strap instead.

That reef is in bad shape. It's right in front of the Kea Lani hotel in Wailea, Maui. We've been there many times however we hadn't been back in five years and it had declined considerably. There used to be many more fish, large parrot fish, peacock groupers, and many more butterflies. Also, we had seen several turtles with what look like tumors on them although this time I only saw one like that, left it out of the vid. The video still doesn't do it justice as it's really hard to get good shots of the fish with such a wide angle lens. I did see many cool fish that I just couldn't get close to free diving.
