I have to haul a lot of weight around with the turbo's, so I try to start out slow. I also kept the straps over the peddles to avoid the temptation of really pounding on the pedals from a standing start.

And that paddle problem you mentioned earlier definitely spooked me to go easy on the peddles as well.

Hope things work out for you  :smt006

I have a Pro Angler and I just sold a Outback, both have the longer Turbo fins.  The only two problems I have had with the drives is a squeaking from the drive units that I could not get rid of and the first trip out I bent both drive masts on the PA  (my fault).  I was able to remove and straighten the masts and I keep them for spares.  I too don't have a Hobie dealer closer than an hour, a real pain if I want to order parts as it took the dealer in Sac 5 weeks to get the H-Bar I ordered for my PA.

My Outback squeaks also, I found that by putting water on the pedal pivot point ( foot rest ) it goes away.

Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

One of two easy ways to remedy the squeak in the pedal area is to drip in some Corrosion-X and work it back and forth till squeak goes away, or disassemble and add a lite dab of Lithium grease and then reassemble.
