Thanksgiving 2011 at Doran

I have spot #86 reserved at Doran for Thanksiving 2011 (Wed and Thursday nite). The spots are going quickly and the jetty is nearly sold out. #86 has a grassy area between it and the neighboring spot - if another NCKAer got that one we'd have a nice little kayack city going on. Who's up for Thanksgiving at the beach? I'll bring the Turkey.

It's kinda hard to commit just yet Ross. But I hope I can make it. Just pulling your leg bro. I'll be there to hang out and of course I'll be bringing some food to share.

Wow! A year in advance and the sites are almost all taken? I suppose it will get worse, with more parks being closed.

This has to be the hookup of the year! I can't wait until it gets revived in 11 months.

I might be interested arriving wed afternoon and staying until night time.

So some weather suckage is called for ... not sure I want to spent Thanksgiving outside in the rain. But hopefully thing will look better by then. 

I'm rolling in mon...and might stay till thanksgiving...since daytripping sucks soooo much.......I'm hopeing non reserveable #89 is still open   cYa OTW!!!

Thanksgiving Day: Variable winds less than 5 kt becoming WNW 8 to 13 kt in the afternoon. A chance of showers. W swell 8 ft at 12 seconds. Wind waves around 1 ft.

Thursday Night: WNW wind 8 to 13 kt becoming variable and less than 5 kt after midnight. A slight chance of showers. W swell 8 ft. Wind waves 1 to 2 ft.

Thinking of driving up tomorrow morning and launching at first light thanksgiving day if any one is thinking of going out.

I'm a newbie to kayak angling. Would love to meet you all at Doran Beach. Can not make it up there until Saturday for a day trip. Any chance you will be there that long?

Happy and safe Thanksgiving to all Yakers at Doran!!!  I was out a few times this week....there still are some monsters out there!  I had my first sucess ever fishing along the rocky shore west of the jetty....caught a couple of rock fish.....very fun.....definitely bumped into a few rocks!
