If some has coordinates, can they be programmed into this GPS?  Say, if Mooch has pinnacles marked on his GPS, can he give me the info & I download it into this GPS?

Not sure about the Magellan but the garmin units allow you to pan the map and mark waypoints at specific lat long coordinates.  Magellan should be the same.

From what I read you need to get another USB cable for like $58.

I don't think so, it only has 8mb of RAM. This GPS is good for finding your way home in the fog and marking fishing spots. Anything else is probably pushing it.

Yeah if you wanted to download points to your computer you would need the $58 cable and some software. Then you are looking at around $180 and for that price you could be a better, waterproof unit with the cable and software included.
