Hi Bird

I would like to catch and eat Trout. I have never tasted Trout!
I'll be fishing Rivers mostly and, Lakes if I can rent a Boat. I  guess I'll need two because
of line Cap.?
I'm from the Coast and mostly fish for Halibut and Rock Fish.

Hey Ernie try the daiwa sweepfire for around fifteen bucks it's really nice.  None of my reels but these are under two hundred but I love them.  PM me if you like and I'll get you a lure for trout fishing that works like no other.  Love to eat trout after marinading in Soyaki from trader joes and barbecuing.

Ernie that rod deserves a good reel if you can find one I would suggest a "Shimano Symetre 2500 Fi" if not get an FJ they won't let you down. They don't make the FImany longer but it has a little better capacity and feels lighter. If you want to mate it up with something from that era I think I have a Dawia 1300 that I had on one of those rods in pretty very shape.

Hi Ernie - for some reason my brain was thinking you were looking for spinners (lures).  In terms of reels, like Mike I'd recommend the Shimano Symetre FIs. I've got several of them in the 750 and 2500 models and their solid for all FW fishing, any of the smaller sizes would match well with your nice Fenwick. Good luck.
