A friend of mine loves horses and one of the horses she's been caring for for a while now is apparently being put out to pasture by the owners (I'm not sure if that means they're going to put it down or literally put it out in some random pasture).  In either case, my friend has found a foster for the horse up in Oroville and we're going to haul it up there on Sunday.

We'll probably get up there about noon and I'm sure she'll want to spend a few hours with the horse before we head back.  I won't have my kayak but I'm thinking I'll probably take the rod and a kastmaster in hopes of finding something to do.

Is anyone planning on being up that way and want to hook up? Or have any tips? I checked previous reports and it sounds like there are land locked steelies in there, but none of the reports I found were made in October/November...so I'm not sure if there'll be anything going on.

There are supposed to be steelhead in the after bay that were planted by DFG. The Wilbur Rd acces is where I here about them. I hear drifting nihtcrawlers has been working for trout. I think some of the trout are actually the steelhead. There is a channel there that runs pretty swift. Cast upstream and drift down. Never tried it myself, but that is what I always hear works. Good luck. If I head up that wayto hunt Sun morn, I'll bring a rod too and post it up.
