I can't find any marine-goo.  Would any clear flexible silicone work?

i believe all the goop's are the same. The marine one has a UV something or other in it. I have used the reg stuff with no issues.

Thanks guys!  I'll hit up some hardware stores tomorrow.  I struck out at the fishing stores.

Kenny, I can pick up a tube for you - are you going to the Tiki tournament? Let me know.

I have a hard time finding a store that doesn't carry it.
Walmart, Kmart, any hardware store.
Plumbers goop, marine goop, whatever goop; for what you are using it for it doesn't make a difference.

Mooch - thanks for the offer.  I had to buy a couple things from Austin Kayak; they had the goop so I added that to the order.  Should be here this week.  Not sure on Tiki - got to filter through all the kids activities to see if there's any time left for me :-).

Thanks Tote - will keep that in mind should I need any in the future.  I stopped at two fish stores that sold Scotty products; logically, I would have assumed they would carry the goop too.  They did, but were out - Kenny luck.

What size rivets should be used?  Last thing I need to figure out before installing.  Went to the store and didn't anticipate a wide array of rivets (probably should have).  I checked out the Scotty website, several on-line forums - found some great install write-ups but none mentioned what size rivet to use.

Thanks-
Kenny

These kind (courtesy from our bros at NWKA).
Most kayak shops carry them or you can order them online.
I'm sure some other kind of store may carry them I just don't know which one.

I'd recommend using nut, bolt, and washer if you can access the inside of your yak where you'll be doing the installation.

I only use rivets as a last resort if I cannot access the hole from the inside.
Nut, bolt and washer are the way to go.
