Darius, Glad to hear your anxious and excited to get out here and get some pink. The run is definetly at its peak and theres no shortage of fish this year and some bigger fish are starting to show. Unfortunetly tho, the bite @ Howe for some reason as of lately has gotten slow. Early morning now has seem to be best with various lures and setups working. The majority of us hitten howe tend to troll spinners or flatfish/quickfish. Firetiger mepps spinners has come thru with a lot of fish caught on the that pattern this year, but other colors are working too. Size 5 blade is the rule. As for flatfish, Ive been having great success trolling the smaller u-20 model in all chrome, gold or chrome/gold with chart. lip. But quickfish/flatfish in sizes k-13 or m2 are working to in the same color patterns. Gold works better in the early morning than silver or nickel. The trolling setup is a basic 3way swivel setup. 10-18ins. of leader to your 1oz weight and 4ft of 15-20lb. max of flouro or mono leader to your lure of choice. You can troll both spinners and flatfish/quickfish with this setup. I think its CRITICAL to have some kind of scent on your spinners or flatfish. Sardine wrap your flatfish/quickfish for better success. From the howe launch you can go up or down, my best advice as of now is to cover a LOT of water and to keep your line wet and fish hard in the morning. Hope this helps bro, and hopefully and i could see ya and the others on sunday. Ricci

Quick newbie question here:

For ocean Salmon fishing, we gotta use barbless hook.  Does that apply for AR Salmon fishing too?   Are treble hooks allowed?

barbless only above ancil hoffman (realistically Riverbend access)
night fishing below Bus80 only
over 1oz lure needs single hook no larger than 3/4inch (??)

Darius, thanks for asking.  Ricci, thanks for hooking it up!  I wasnt sure how you guys were doing it either!  Maybe next week I'll hit it up if the bite is still on!

that applys to 'non'- bouyant lures.

Not telling you your business... Just clairfying that big Kwikfish dont apply.
