I just spoke with a reliable source that said he spoke to a Megabait rep THIS MONTH who said Megabait was sold to another tackle manufacturer and WILL be putting out more product similar to what we know and love this spring. In the mean time, some suppliers still have live jigs and LA sliders. I also liked (and purchased) some of the jigs River2Sea is putting out. Here's a comparison of some of my favs...

From left to right:Shimano Butterfly (not sure if this color is available in the US as I bought it in Tokyo, its a 90g green back anchovy),5oz River2Sea Searock,7oz River2Sea Searock (sardine),4.5oz megabait live jig,6.5oz Megabait live jig (switched out the tuna hook for a 4/0 bronze treble)

Tie any one of these on in ling territory and hold on!!!

The return of Megabaits would be sweet.  Nice iron collection.

Well, I did predict that one. I mean if the company goes under because of some patent/copyright/IP issue
and the assets are sold and the live jig was not an issue, it would certainly be picked up by somebody!

sometimes it takes longer than expected, there are capital problems etc.

aaron, you are plugged in, good to have you and your perchin and rockfishin skillz here!

Thanks J.I really like this group.I almost feel like I've been reunited with old friends.

Yeah, I hope to see the return of the live jig this season. This may be too much info., but from what I hear the Megabait thing was pretty ugly business politics.Basically Mega didn't have the resources for a fullscale court battle and was forced into making a move.Hate to see smaller companies founded by guys who love to fish get pressured by the big guys.
