I'll be backpacking with my BSA troop that weekend.

this looks and sounds a lot like project kokanee tournys. Sounds and looks interesting, but It gets really tuff to win(especially in a kayak) when you have over 15 plus professional guides also participating in it! But hey, $25,000 is lot of money, i guess it would/can be worth it! goodluck if ya go.
