Nike Women's Half Marathon 2011

23,000 women and me.

 

Not my fastest half, but I had negative splits (I got faster throughout the whole race), I saw my wife and daughters out there cheering for me and, most importantly, the race participants raised over $13 MILLION dollars for Cancer research this year!!

I placed 47th out of 112 in my age group!

Special shout out to DaBlazer Don....we played phone tag and turns out he walked right by me while I was drinking pool side after the race back at the hotel, but he didn't hear me call his name out!!

There is a lottery that you enter to get into the race or you can commit to raising $$ for LLS and do it through your local Team in Training chapter...

The finishing medal is a Tiffany's necklace presented by an SF FireFighter in a tuxedo....major WAF points for bringing home that little blue box!
