Thinking of trying for WSB this Saturday for the first time.  Anyone else going to be out there?  From a few of the reports I read on other sites, it sounds like it might be a little better around Pajaro.  I stayed a Pajaro Dunes years ago and as I remember there was public beach access, whether the surf will be down is the big question.  I imagine the other option is launching at Moss and making the long paddle?

I would not even think of paddling out of the beach near the dunes.  Well maybe on a super flat day, but even then the second and third set of waves would have to be timed perfectly.  Most have paddled in from Moss Landing.

My buddy and I are planning to go Sat. Was thinking of going out of mbk and fish by the hotel area. How far is the peddle from moss to pajaro area?

Thanks for the info on the dunes, it has been a long time since I have been there.

As far as paddling from Moss, it looks like around 4 miles.

It's a good 1.5 hour pedal for me. If u have the wind and tide working against u, it's a real b**tch getting back. I assume those with fish in their tankwells have it worse- I wouldn't know.

That's pretty far out for my buddy. He's scared to go out that far.  So we might just do the hotel area. I really want to go out to pajaro tho...  I don't want to take him out there when he's not comfortable.

John, you should come out Sat. Show us newbs some tricks.
