These guys are nuts but kudos to them for saving the landlord. Even though some of us may dislike him. :smt002

i think most real fisherpersons would do the same = i would  :smt002
~ i once chased down a injured bird along the shoreline. It had a hook in it wing and couldn't fly. After removing it with a pair of pliers, i apllied some neosporin to the wound, let it go and it flew out to the ocean to heal and recover....i felt good for the rest of the day. :smt002

Good for them. Those fine young gentlemen from the pier video a few weeks back could learn a thing or two from this guy.
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...

Malibu two : Exactly my thoughts but then it also went through my head it was probably caught by someone on the pier relized it was gws and cut the line he probably wasnt able to close his mouth or rid himself of the hook.I commend these surfers seeing how sharks like to eat surfers.....And Yakers.....good for them! :smt001

My guess is it broke off from a boat or pier. A shark that size would be too big to land without gaffing.

In fact, chances are, whoever hooked it probably never even saw it. That one looks bigger than the one on the pier and unless you're geared up for a fish that size, you won't have a chance.

I did the same thing once, sans the Neosporin..........................Right after I cast from the beach at a boil past the surfline, hooked the damn thing and drug it through wicked surf in front of some pissed off touristas. Chit happens.  :smt003
So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains, where the spirits go...........
