What is up with the Hobie paddles I bought two boats new (Adventure and Oasis) and in less than 1 and 1/2 years the left blade has broken off all three paddles.  They always seem to break at the most inopportune time while out on the big blue.  My dealer here in Chico dumped Hobie and left me high and dry.  Anybody?

Complaining and whining.

New News September 12, 2011.  Hobie is sending me 3 new paddles,  THANK YOU HOBIE!!!

Hobie says, "We have since evened the mold, added ribs inside the blade, and changed to a more durable plastic."

My Hobie paddle broke in the same place. I replaced it with a Bending Branches paddle.  Even with the pedal being the main propulsion source, a decent paddle is still too important to trust the Hobie paddles.

Yeah, I only used my Hobie paddle once, and it felt kinda flimsy.
I only use my Aquabound Stingray to paddle the Revo with now.
Cool logo on the Hobie blade though! :smt005

This is definitely a big concern for the Hobie owners. Did the paddle just come off
because of a bad glue or brake at the end?

wow, that's a clean break  :smt011 I always carry my hobie paddle as a backup propulsion as do the rest of us hobie owners, but it would surely suck if something happened to the drive and then that happened to the paddle, I wonder what Hobie would say about this?

It broke.  The blade has a post that glues into the handle, the post breaks off of the blade.

The blades on mine have never touched anything but water.

You did't learn something after 2 paddles and now going on #4 ! Think ( know ) I would buy a different paddle . Hopefully Hobie will shoot you a refund you can spend on another brand .  :smt013

All the paddles came with the two boats, one boat was a tandem = 3 paddles.
