New world record for number of fish caught in 24 hours

He caught 2649 fish in 24 hours.  That's an average of a fish caught every 32 seconds.  Amazing!!!

If that was me I'd celebrate my new world record by purifying myself in the waters of lake minetonka.

Seems to trivialize fishing and appears to me to lack respect for the resource, but I can be too judgemental in that way and possibly even hypocritical.  I predict that followup to this story may include some level of fallout due to a possible perceived abuse of a resource.

Let's say, for example, that I want to set a "world record" for most black rockfish caught and released in 3 straight hours out at the Cape.  Doesn't the mortality of those fish due to my actions rise to the top of many peoples' awareness?

Fascination with my own animal instincts is one of the coolest things about being an Anthropologist.
