Is this what I should do to assert my halibut entry?  Randy and Joel will provide picture confirmation.  Witnesses were Fuzzy Tom, Mooch and Randy.

Halibut, 36 inches, 22 pounds caught today, April 2 just west of Otter Cove in Monterey Bay.  Caught on Halibut rig, anchovy in 55 feet of water.

Not only my first halibut of the season but my first kayak halibut.......... :smt003

Way to go Pat!!!  Tell us about the fight.  did you gaff or net?  Did the fish go ballistic on your YAK?

I am so jealous.  some day, i'll catch a halibut again.

(Or as Monty Python says "an halibut!")

Seriously, congrats on the first yak flatty.

Thank you, Allen.  I couldn't have done it without your coaching.

I did the blow by blow report under reports.  I netted it with my new net.  It will work better than my funky old net for salmon and my anticipated record ling later in the season........ :smt004
