Lake Tahoe Inspection fee?

Does anybody know if Lake Tahoe Charges for inspections on Kayak? I am planning on going this weekend and wanted to get the family on the water. Any information would be great. If there is a charge are there any other lakes near by that don't?

So I googled the subject after posting this and found this article. It states that inspection is free for kayaks and that they will check it once and then you check it the next times.
