I used these last year before I got my 4runner. They work great on Thule (square) racks, I don't know if they would work on other racks. First $50 takes them.

Cool.  Just what I need to transport my very first kayak.  Are straps and other mounting hardware available with this too?

No straps but the mounting hardware is built-in to the sliders and setngo. If you are familar with Thule products most of them kinda clamp on to the Thule bar. Everything is there, just no straps.
