8.19~20 FRI/SAT - Gerstle, Fort Ross, Fisk Mill

Drove up thurs night, took 4hrs in traffic, setup tent and went to sleep.  Had the wife and kid, along with ccup and his wife, with issac.  Woke up to do a morning dive before the wife's woke up.  Headed to gerstle to try it out.  50degrees, vis was about 7ft, some rollers that got me green.  I spent my time looking for 10" but didnt see any.  I shot one fish, where the others had better luck.  We had fried abalone, fried fish, and hot pot abalone, with bulgogi for lunch.  The fog wouldn't clear, so we spent over 100 bucks on firewood, to try to make it warm and comfy for the wife's.

That afternoon, we planned on taking the family to fort ross, so we could dive and the wifes/kid could kayak or play at the beach, but it wasn't really the conditions you would want to hang out at the beach at.  My son conked out on the drive there, so the wife took him back to the campsite to sleep.  We dove in 25ft of water, ccup shot a nice big black, I just ran around looking for that 10", issac was shooting/abing.


Sat. was the NCUH event for the big ab, we decided that we would just go play in the water before the big guns came out and flooded all the dive locations.  We were the first to fisk mill and went through the forest maze.  We made it down to the water, it had good vis, but the rollers made issac and I green.  I decided to pull my 3 abs for the drive home.  Got a 9" out of it, and was satisifed.

Great report once again! Way to get out with the family.
