Not sure how you plans will go, but yesterday there was what I assume was a plankton bloom in the Timber Cove area that reduced the vis in close to shore to about a foot, I saw the same bloom about 10 days ago about a 1/4 mile offshore south of Ft Ross so I'm not sure how extensive it is,

Just thought I'd mention it

Does anybody have eyes on clear water right now? How is the vis around Monterey? I would prefer to go up north but I'm flexible.

I may make it up there. We may have to take my son up to UNR this weekend but I plan on diving if we don't have to go to Reno.

I'm diving tomorrow off a friend's urchin boat.  When I looked at the viz this afternoon on the north side of Fort Bragg (Virgin Creek), the viz was excellent.

I was thinking of heading up north tomorrow for a shore dive from Ft. Ross / Ocean Cove / T Cove ... somewhere around there. Don't have a kayak yet. What kind of conditions are we expecting?

The 2 reports I saw for Timber & Ocean Cove yesterday were something to the effect of "like diving in coffee"... so I'm waiting for Dave W's report for Mendo.  :)
