So many options this time of year.   We are really lucky to have so many great places to kayak fish so close.

I'm going to be a wuss and head to Viera's Resort tomorrow,  east of Rio Vista, to fish for the lockjaw salmon.  I'll see if I can drop some lead or plastic on top of a salmon to make him pissed so he will
snap my lure.

Plan on being in the water by 7:00.

Please let us know how you do.  I have never heard of fishing for Salmon in the Delta.  So much water, that like hitting a hole in one.

Not one boat fishing by Vierra's yesterday 8/17.  They saved them all for you.  Next time you wanna go PM me.  I am about ten miles upriver from Vierra's.  You can beach launch from here at no charge.  Three were caught last week at the Isleton bridge (biggest 21#) by a neighbor and I witnessed one caught right in front of my place on Sunday.  No love for me yet but I have the fever.  Will hit it again after Caples.----Jeff

Good luck on the Delta.  I am skunking up the areas below Freeport (Clarksburg).  The fish have to pass through these areas so what the hell.  I prefer not to be surrounded by boats.  In the half a dozen times that I have been fishing Clarksburg I have had one other boat try for salmon and maybe five other boats who were anchored up for Stripers.  Outside of that it is me and the occassional recreational boat passing through.

No salmon for me today.  Saw one 25lber in a net, and another in a boat.

Main run is not arrived yet.

I had three hours of peddling and lots of sun.

I'll keep my ears to the ground and schedule another am trip when there is a better chance for success.

Not a bad place to fish.  Lots of nice people puttin around.
