Caught this cabbie on a little plastic out of a tiny hole.  I had to put down rod and move some rocks around on my belly to ge this one,  he got his head stuck.  He was 18 3/8 ", 4.3 lbs.  What a healthy fish!

Gosh but I love cabbies.  Wouldn't that fish make a terrific print?

the funny thing about cabezon being 15" minimum length, most are right around that or barely under. when i dive i see a lot of them and they are all just barely around 15". weird how that works.

I caught one out in bodega one time, it was about 8-9 lbs.  Fought real nice,  still like the taste of the lingcod better though.

Bigger cabby's are great fighters and mighty tasty...one of my favorites.

I find cab meat to be very delicious.  Up there with ling meat.
