Met up with a buddy of mine from NCUH'ers Greg Gibbson at 530 am Saturday morning at the Jenner store for a quick dive. We loaded his truck up with the gear and headed up. On the way way up as we looked at the water and had high expections cause it appeared so flat and still. Well we decided on diving south Gerstle cove for a couple of reason. One Greg had never dove there, two easy entry and ease of access and tends to be fishy !!! well once there we got suited up and headed down. We kicked out to the kelp bed with our handy kick ass Banks Boards and started our breath ups. From the surface it did not appear that bad. We had a good 3 to 5 feet, but you could tell there was a bloom/red tide going and that is where the issue started at about 15 to 18ft down it would go pitch black !!!! the only thing you could se was the little area your light would hit  and light up. Not fun diving. Greg managed to shoot one black and yellow and I passed on the one and only fish I had a shot at due to the fact it was not what I was looking for which was a ling.We only dove for about 30min before we called, I live to close to dive in those conditions !!!!  In all a great day hanging with a fellow NCUH'er and cool one at that and hell any time in the water in a good time.
