They look like plain market squid.

We had a similar encounter on one of our La Paz trips.  The skippies were herding squid to the surface.  I wish I had the wherewithal to don a mask and jump in.  Instead I grabbed a rod with a top water plug on it and got bit.  Priorities!!!
