07.16 SAT - Lovers Monterey

Originally had planned to kayak fish with SuperD270, but because of my failure on my wife's birthday, I had to convert it to a family day.  Utilizing my frequent flyer points, I booked us into the Hyatt Hotel Monterey for sat.

Woke up, loaded my gear, then loaded my family, and took off to Monterey.  Dropped the wife and kid at starbucks, so they could get a hot cocoa and coffee, before going into the aquarium.  I drove to Lovers, to see SuperD270 back from fishing that morning with his catch.  He mentioned that Chumchum was below with his friend.

I went down and greeted them and asked how they did angling.  It was kinda slow they mentioned.  Chumchum's buddy didn't feel well, so chumchum asked to follow me out, to dive. 

Loaded my gear on my banks board, and went out over the kelp.  Got to the end of the kelp bed and secured my board and did my first dive.  Depth 25ft, vis 15+ (murky though).  I mentioned to chumchum, that I do not shoot perch, and he said if I saw any to shoot it for him.  Sure enough my 2nd and 3rd dive, all I see is a perch and shoot it.  I missed a good shot on a fat black and yellow.  After 2 hrs in the nice water and awesome day outside, I decide I better go take the family out to lunch.

I dropped the perch off on chumchum's kayak and head back in.  I pickup the wife and kid and head to Giovanni's for lunch.  After that we head back to lovers to play at the beach.  Damn it was such a nice day.  I saw fishmaster1 in a tux, his cousin was getting married there at lovers park.  I ran into superd270 again and he wanted to freedive, but I had my wife to worry about.

We left the beach and headed to check into the hotel.  Checked in and went diving in the pool with my son.  Practiced with him in 8ft of water in holding breath and just having fun.  He is totally a water baby.  LOL

I will have to upload the video tomorrow when I get back home, due to that the hotel charges for internet and I don't want to use 2Gb of data on my hacked tethered iphone.  LOL

WTG on treating your family to a first class hotel there Cheaki and getting it free!  Your kid sure is growing up fast.  I see him diving with you soon and showing you his fish.  Is that Andy the FryMaster1 dressed up or is he the waiter at the Lover's restaurant?

That's cool that your kid is probably going to be a diver too. Then you can have him ask his mom for permission to go so you don't have to
