ICAST - Need big $$$?

I've keeping an eye on the ICAST new products. What's up with the tackle manufacturer's?  Most new products (not all) are over the $200 price range.

In this tough economy, I am wondering what's the reasoning behind this.

Just my opinion, the populace right now is kinda in 3 categories, down and out, just barely making it, and as good as ever. (of course these groups always exist, just in different numbers)

The first 2 catagories aren't buying anything new,

The third, well they're OK and the manufacturers are focusing new products and prices on them.

Of course it's not that simple but I think that's a big part of it.
