Went to the giants game wednesday night and hit it pretty hard.  Stuck around to see the walk off and was rather pleased with there results.  Woke up the next morning to a splitting headache and slow moving me.  I hopped on the best website in the world, NCKA to find that a video had been added to chaeki's big sur dive so I was watching it and decided that I need to get in the water.  Thanks for the inspiration big sur crew.  Truck is loaded down and I am out the door by 330.  Get down to SWS and I am in the water by 5.  Im swimming around checking the rocks and Bam!!!.  Nice cab.   Swim around a little more and BAm!!!!!!! this cab is a little bigger.  But I want a monster.  Not 30 seconds after BAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you guessed it, kelp rock fish.  Never found my cabzilla but I did shoot some really nice kelps and one nice blue.  Here is the funny part.  Sometimes I think im cooler than I reallly am and today was one of those days.  I have seen some better divers string their fish on the leader line that connects gun to spear.  My dive board was a decent swim away so i decide that i am cool enough to do this.  First second and third fish on the line was no problem.  Put the fourth fish on and in the mist of trying to reload the gun my four dead fish have tied themselves in a pretty good knot.  So like a dum dum i am trying to undo it while in the swell and kelp and elements and my flash light which is on my left wrist some how decides to join the party.  So now my had is tied up in the knot and it was only getting worse.  FML  So i decide that my ling and eel hunt will be cut short do to the fact that I only have one working hand.  I ended up swimming back with my left hand holding my dive board and half way back to short something feels weird and im like what the hell is wrong now.  stop to check it out and the leash for my boogie board is tangled in the mess that is my left hand.  Now all i can hear is laughing.  Fish birds crabs,  even the starfish and urchins are laughing at me.  I ended up taking my glove off to get my hand free and swam back to shore embarrassed and mentally defeated.  As i am untying the knot on shore im thinking, i have never had fishing line get tangled up this bad.  All in all it was a good day but next time that I am feeling pretty cool, im just going to go with what works and swim back to the dive board to put the fish on the stringer.

Ha! Does anyone have a used Camera for Hotplate???? You need one bad dude!  That better be one of the first things you buy when things are back in full swing over there at SJ.  Anyhow, good story, and I hate how condescending those crabs at SWS can be, snooty bastards.

So some days you think your cooler than you really are?  Strange, I havent noticed  :smt044 :smt044 :smt044  Just kidding dude, your the mother f'n man!

Ha! Made my day. Haven't gotten tangled that bad but it's amazing what just a small knot in your float line can do to you, or your shooting line wrapping up funkily around your gun, bands, and spear... nice score out there. That ling and eel will be there for you next time.
