Missed out...

I was browsing craigslist today as I do every day except for yesterday because I was busy. I came across a free to a good home kayak posting. I clicked on it and it said like new ocean kayak trident 15 angler. I of course texted the guy immediately hoping he one still had it and two that it was a legit posting. Sadly he replied saying that it was already gone. I am sure it went in the first two or three minutes of being posted. I can't figure out why anybody would be giving an almost new one of those away for free. I am kicking myself for not checking on craigslist as I normally do. Maybe I would have caught it before it was gone.

I see a lot of free stuff posting and when I respond i always get a respond that said sorry it's gone. I mean, how do we know it's not a prick with nothing to do with their time? It's like that old saying..if it's too good to be true, it probably is..

but anyway, i don't bother with the free stuff anymore. i just buy used ones.

So you presume you're the only one looking for free stuff?

I wasn't actually looking for free anything. It was in the for sale section. I stated that I regretted not looking yesterday as it was posted yesterday and it may have still been available at that time. Or as Pompano120 said it may have just been somebody who has nothing better to do than putting up a bogus post to get people like me to bite on it.

A lot of times they are fishing for email addresses and phone#'s to sell to marketing agencies & such.

no but people don't give away things like that.. its very rare. i bet if i post a CL on a kayak i bet i get tons of emails asking for it and i can say sorry it's gone. been through that a lot last year..got fed up. and some were like mins after the post.
