Not related to kayak fishing in any way, but looking for any advice on stuff to do in Reno.  My bro is getting married, he's not the drinking/party type but wants to have a good time.  We're going to see Stone Temple Pilots Friday night, rent some full-auto guns to shoot Saturday, that's about it.  Anything else I should set up, besides a trip to Fantasy Girls of course?

HAHA! I was gonna say go to Fantasy Girls.

I'm not really into strip clubs (honestly!), but I liked the atmosphere in there and the girls weren't super pushy.

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Everyone should go to pyramid lake (not that far from Reno) to fish for Lahontan Cuts before they die.  The fish get huge and they are fun to catch.  I'm not sure the best time of year, but I was up there in May and caught 10 + pounders.

things i do when in RENO:
Cabelas & sheels
club edge in peppermill
2nd street bar on 2nd street downtown (doesnt close till like 5am)
single deck blackjack at the peppermill
old bridge ranch (used to be mustang ranch)
lobster buffet in boomtown
breakfast at the bonanza

last year i went for a BBQ at pyrimid and had no plans to fish due to spending time with the family near the water , while wading through the clear water i seen the biggest trout ive ever seen and it sent me back to the store for the lake liciense along with some trout spoons , i didnt catch any monster trout but caught a croaker type fish . i told myself i was gonna go back soon but never got a chance too , im gonna go back probly in fall with the kayak and try to put in some work.

Does this mean you won't be floating the river this weekend ?  :smt012

No worries, this is the plan for next weekend Tim!  Are you game for a river float? I'll be up in Weaverville Sun/Mon, so Saturday is my only chance to get out.

You also have the White Water Park http://www.reno.gov/Index.aspx?page=311

and Reno Aces Baseball but I think they will be on the road the weekend after the 4th

Beenfishn, the Brothers posted a lot of great things to do in Reno. Here is one more to check out.  sagehillclays.com.   Not Full Auto, but still fun.  Full Auto, Semi Auto, either/ or for me cause I'm too lazy for bolt action.  Scheels vs Cabelas??? Go to both,  But Cabelas for me.  Be Aware that 80 east of McCarran (the first McCarran coming into town)  to 395 will choked down to 2 lanes due to construction.   Check your route plans and avoid this area if possible,  mucho wrecks.  Also East bound 80 east of Nyack to Truckee narrow lanes, and then again Floriston to Reno.  Be Safe and Have Fun. Congrats to your brother....  Another One Bites The Dust.
