Looks like a great time.  I was in Ninilchek, AK over Fathers Day fishing for halibut with my dad...first time to AK and it was incredible.  Beautiful country and big fish...got lucky and landed a 179lb halibut in 35ft of water....also had the pleasure of reeling in a 200lb+ skate that worked me over pretty good.  Cant wait to go back....

And.... I was on the same boat!    Talk about yer NCKA hookup..  :smt004.    Our dads know each other and our boat (6 pack) was pretty much team father and son but I didn't know he was an ncka'er till our dads said something about it in the sac airport.     Ive been waiting to post till I get a pic of the big BUTT!  That was a monster and jd71 earned that one by reeling in the huge skate.

Hopefully Ill get some pix together soon and post..   till then.. grats on a great trip Jim!!   Awesome video!

Mmmmmm, reminds me of the trip I took from Seattle to Seward on a friend of my brother's boat. All those miles and only got to fish for 15 minutes, but managed a 60lber in that time. Very cool place for sure. Great to see you getting some quality father/son time in Jim. Never too late for that..................WTG!

Thanks for sharing your trip details.  Sounds like a trip of a lifetime!   It made me remember fishing with my dad and how he got me started in this lifelong passion...    Nothing better than a fishing trip with the ones we love!   Everything seems bigger and better n Alaska--I'll have to put down Alaska as a fishing destination in the near future!   ClarkT

That is awesome Jim. I think you just enlisted a few of us to go next year. I've been sitting on the fence for sometime, but i think you kicked me off! Thanks for the referral. L.A.

Nice action.  Those pacific halibut seem to be quite prevalent up there, and big.  Not to mention the lingcod that were released were huge also.  Damn, well I guess it cant be like that everywhere right!  :smt012  nice pictures too, have to get up there one day.

Great action photos and I hope it is that flat when I go up there in a couple of weeks. I have 2 trips out of Seward with Tim Berg and one out of Homer. Hopefully get to get a 3 digit halibut this time.  We get to keep the lingcod too so a couple of 50 + pounders a day will fill a good size meat locker.  Two years ago I filled an 80 quart cooler with almost 100 pounds of fillets in one trip out of Seward.  :smt001
