All right now I'm talking about Spring Lake a 75 acre reservoir in Santa Rosa.
The fishing media particularly  http://wordrecordbass.com/ said that Monster bass do exists in the lake supporting the fact with several photos of Paul Duclos( the gentlemen that caught the 24lb monster) holding bass of ten lbs and over. Yet others including well known author Tom Stienstra deny it.

Here's a quote from worldrecordbass.com
"Duclos and other Santa Rosa-area anglers feared that, once word got out about the big bass, their lake would be overrun with anglers trying to re-catch Duclos's fish. Spring Lake did attract a small crowd, but after seeing the small, weedy body of water, many anglers found yet another reason to be skeptical: They didn't believe the lake could produce or support a bass that size.

Biologists disagree. According to them, there are three requirements for producing a world record: 1) A newly filled lake with lots of nutrients; 2) Florida-strain bass planted as the lake fills (or after it is drained) so the first year-class of those super-gened fish faces almost no competition for forage; and 3) easy-to-catch winter chow (in the form of hatchery rainbow trout)."
Mr Matt , because of what you've told me and what the Biologists say--I agree with them.
At this time I should explane myself as to my obsession as to wether or not a 24lb bass can exist in Spring Lake.
On March 1, 1997 when Paul Duclos caught his 24lb bass he photographed and release it, in doing so he made a profound statement and set an excellent example for the catching and releasing of Big Bass and big fish in general, that I feel we should all follow. If I was to say it didn't happen, that a fish that size couldn't be caught in Spring Lake, I would be calling that example a lie.

Why Do I paddle a kayak instead of a float tube or a pontoon boat? I like seeing where I'm going not where I've been!
Paddle safe and wrap'em tight.
