So its summer in Sacramento now.  With the hot days, high gas prices and no job I have been stuck inside for a few days now.  That's not to say I don't get out in the mornings and evenings, I do, for a couple hours here and there.  Anyway, All this time inside and the need to go through 2 years worth of photos for an initial prinitbiility assessment and I came across these pictures from last year.

Now suitably homesick for fishy rivers, I think I'll buy some plane tickets  :)

These are from a lazy afternoon spent floating about 6 miles of the Gasconade River with my folks.  Mom is a hard core fisherwoman and my father would like to fish more but gets distracted by husbandly duties, naps and scenery.  As far as those husbandly duties, get your mind out of the gutter; Mom has trouble maneuvering the kayak in moving water while fishing.  This is due to her general refusal to put the rod down unless landing a fish or getting out of the kayak.  :smt044  I on the other hand like to dissect every little bit of water that looks good and zoom through the iffy stuff, this means I am usually way in back of the group...but I do catch more fish   :smt004

Anyway, some nice pictures of late summer post-flood fish and stuff   :smt001

old report or no, that was a fun read.
I can't remember the last time I paddled in only boardshorts and no wetsuit....

If your mom moves to California I can see her quickly becoming the NCKA matriarch.

Sunfish and Beetlespins, simple and sweet.
I'm at home between jobs too. Thanks for the pics.
