Oh man, that is a beauty!! Just last week I was yak fishing the local surf for stripers, hoping to get one of those. Instead, I got a real nice paddle workout all the way to Soldier's Club and back to MBK lol   :smt005

Live eel...

Sometimes different baits for different striper haunts. In addition to season. Eel yep, also mendahaden(sic) or bunker in the summer and clams in the winter The stripers are huge in size out East, like here years ago...but one of the main reasons they're larger IMHO, is the amount of forage fish/food that's available to them. At times there's plenty of it and the avg size of food is bigger. And, two or more somewhat delta systems in the Hudson River valley and the Chesapeake Bay estuary. Our delta water going south with the smelt, salmon and striper smolts is strinking our striper sizes and its population. Sorry to jack your thread Craig.
