Finally coming home!

 

  It's finally official!  I start work back in Santa Clara July5th!  My Hire date is June13th! Now all I need to do is sell my place up here in Oregon before I depart for home!

  No, at work, (12hr nights)

Hah. I email and post in the middle of the night sometimes because I just wake up and can't go right back to sleep. I get up at 5AM anyway. Welcome back to sunny troubled California.

Wife and I considered Oregon. We have friends and relatives in Portland, & suburbs, Corvallis, Eugene, and Bend. Bend has great weather but is pricey with few jobs outside of tourism. We decided while it's beautiful, has great outdoors activities including great hunting and fishing, a low costs of living, is less crowded, and  has sensible firearms laws—it just rained too much in West Oregon. So we moved to the Central Valley for a less frenetic pace and to be closer to the Sierra and still in reach of the Bay Area for work. So far, it's the best move we ever made.

  Offical.  I'm driving home June 18th (Saturday morning early)  Selling my place up here has turned out to be a bust.  Ran out of time.  Will probably just end up forfieting it back to the park (Instead of continuing to pay $475/mo to keep it.)  Only part that sucks about leaving here.  I'll miss seeing Mt Hood, and Mt. Saint Helens.  Colombia river gorge.  Won't miss the traffic downtown, the rain, & cloudy days.
  I do miss the ocean, my wife, house, cat, fishing......   

  Anyhow, one more long drive to make!

  Got a call from the wife just as I finished working on my truck, (Ready to leave where I did the work) and she tells me theres guy at my place wanting to look at it!  I race home, (Of course stop & go parking lot 90% of the way ) I arrive back and the guy was still waiting.  He wants to buy the place!   Yeehaa....  Gave me $300 deposit,  so I gave him some paperwork I needed to fill out for the park, and he already spoke to onsite park manager.  Hopefully by Friday, I'll have rest of the $$$ so I'll be heading home with less stuff!  (Didn't want to leave anything for the park if I had to just walk away from it)
  So close to the very end I was sure nothing would have happened.  (Not gonna say anymore to jinx the deal!)
