Fishing Video Contest

San Jose newspaper has a fishing video contest going on, for anyone interested.


The Mercury Films Festival is a chance for you to share your favorite on-the-water moment with the world.

Visit MercFilms.com, upload your video(s) and share it with people who are just as passionate about getting out on the water as you are.

The person who shoots the winning video will win their choice of a Mercury Outboard or an all-expense paid fishing trip with Jose Wejebe, Mark Zona or Bill Dance. If you don’t have a video to share, you can still win an Alaskan fishing trip for two.

Wonder if "OTW" can include "In the water" as applied to this contest.  I have a bet with the boss that I can catch a fish while swimming.  Was thinking of freestyling into the middle of the stanislaus,then backtroll a kastmaster/panther martin by rolling over and doing a turtleback flutter kick into the current with a rod in my hand and paying out some line.  Sounds outrageous but there was a section of Beardsley afterbay where this seemed completely doable and only partially insane.

Come to think of it, I actually really like raymacs quarry vids.  He has that super mellow voice, avuncular style that just brings a smile to your face.  You can tell it's not about slaughtering a lunker limit, but just being out there for the fun.  Ray u shd enter some vids!
