Has anyone tried the Harmony Fishing Seat?  I'm thinking about buying one because the price is right...  Let me know your thoughts.  Thanks!

If this is the one you mean: http://www.sierratradingpost.com/p/20119,2831P_Harmony-Fishing-Sit-on-Top-Kayak-Seat.html

Pro:  I bought a OK Trident 13 Angler and traded in the original seat for the Harmony  It has lot more padding and provides great comfort to your butt and back.

Con: The buiilt in rod holder tubes on the back are open.  This makes your rod butt land in between the seat and kayak which has caused me discomfort because its hitting my back.

Overall: Great for comfort, forget the rod holders in the back.

I like the seat, do not use the rod holders.

I used one when I was in Baja a few years ago.  Worked great and was comfortable....would've like a little extra padding in the butt though.  I can't really comment on the rod holders as we didnt use em.

I think I have this one:
http://www.surftosummit.com/tall-back-fishing-molded-foam-kayak-seat-p-1700.html?cPath=283_208

Can go from dawn to dusk w/o a sore back. The bag is handy for food and drinks. As others have said, the rod holders are pretty much useless for other than a club and maybe a gaff. There isn't much padding for the seat, however, if that is an issue.

I got the  Surf to Summit  low cost , on E-Bay, and like it a lot.

You can make excellent padding if you have a vacuum packaging system by putting about five  cups of water in 11"x 8 or 8x10 bag  or thereabouts. Works as well as expensive gel. It makes for an absolutely quantum difference in comfort at the end of the day.
