Has anyone ever launched from Treasure Island?
I was thinking that would be a great place to launch for Halibut or shark.
Is so, please post details.
Thanks

Not sure if you can launch from Treasure. I resently paddled over there from Oakland. We drove through a ton of shipping yard to get to this little park that was on a point fairly close to the island. We crossed over to Treasure, paddled around it and then made the crossing home. While going around the island we did see a launch ramp on the far north east side of the island. I think you may be able to park and wheel your kayak there by cart. Not sure of logistics but it may be worth scouting it out. Attached is a google map of the launch I'm talking about. We stopped at the launch for lunch and saw lots of people walking and fishing off the bank so I assume there must be parking close to here. Anyone else have any better info about this spot?

theres a nice sandy cove right when you turn into TI and ull miss it really quick if your not paying attension , its a steep stairwall dwn but if you do the budy system it can be done. if you take a right before the gate theres a road that goes along a big shipping dock and theres a opening in the rocks , still rocky but could put you right on the east sde of the island which is good halibut territory

Aaron Piski and I have done several launches from TI.  We park near in the marina stalls near the Portajohn, wheel over to the seawall right by Island Market and Deli, portage the boats down the rocks, and put in on the west side of TI.  Tour buses who see us clamboring over the seawall always get tripped out.  BTW, its about a two mile swim from insertion point to the 14th street pier on the embarcadero (if you ever have to do it, hopefully that never happens LOL).

the TI marina is def yakable distance from several East Bay Launches.  E.g., you could launch from ARW, paddle an ebb tide or slack to TI, then ride a flood back to your launch.
