(05-31) 12:40 PDT FANNING SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) --

A sturgeon jumped into an airboat on a Florida river and broke a 25-year-old woman's leg.

Witnesses say the fish was about 5- to 6-feet long and weighed about 60- to 75-pounds.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers say Tina Fletcher was a passenger in an airboat Sunday when the sturgeon jumped and hit her leg.

According to wildlife officials, this is the fifth report this year of a person injured by a jumping sturgeon.

incredible story.  I smell a lawsuit against the airboat operator, especially given that this was the fifth such reported injury this year.  Name the boat manufacturer and designer, and most importantly, the fish, as defendants, while she's at it.

Fish v. human incidents apparently happen alot in florida.  Was it last year that some manta ray jumped into a boat and killed a woman due to head trauma?

I was kinda thinking the same thing.

We got members here who have spent countless hours in the freezing cold, just hoping for even a sign of a sturgeon - and this lady has one jump into her lap!?
