I use a waxed canvas "sailmakers" hat from Watership Trading. It can be a little warm on a hot day, but OTW I'm hardly ever too warm so it works. I've got the unlined version. If I get too warm i just dip it in the water.

The issue I find with most of the lightweight sun hats is that, once OTW, any amount of wind flips the brim back and the hat loses much of its sun protection. The canvas holds its shape well, even when wet.

Why not buy a couple?  It's always good to have a spare.

My hat collection is just getting started.  There is no perfect hat...  only perfect hats for certain conditions.

Hey Eric(EWB), the hat I was wearing in the picture of me holding the sturgeon was a gift from Hojo(Howard) to my son Brandon. The hat is still a little to big
for him so he said I can use it for now. Great hat, light weight, plus waterproof.

I'll stick with my 20 year old camo bonnie hat.  Full brim, can tuck up sides with draw string or tuck them down inside my hoodie. :smt002

I wear a Tilly airflo hat and I love mine to death, it's been to the gates & back with me.

They are expensive but they are really well made. A nice velcro pocket inside and they float! The chin strap is fairly unique and I have never once had it blow off or get uncomfortable. My wife has one two and loves hers just as much as I love mine.

I have a Tilly. Good shade and the strap keeps it on in the wind.

Same here. Tilley and a Seattle Sombrero.
Lately, I've been wearing my Tilley more than a ball cap.

Thanks everyone for sharing.  Still haven't made my mind yet.  Nice to see what some of you've could mentioned as my potential hat.
