That kayaker is one lucky guy.  That whale must weight at least 2 tons!  :smt003

Sonny that's been around longer than you           Fake

It even fools the Kayak Angler magazine!

The incident brings an infamous video clip to mind. An orca soars high out of the water, crashing down on a kayaker while horrified onlookers scream. The crushed kayaker floats back to the surface, rolls upright and paddles off. Ah, the benefits of a gulp of Powerade (Urban legend debunker Snopes.com revealed it as a fake concocted for a Korean-language commercial touting the sports drink).  View it below.

It's so hard now a day to tell the difference between real and fake picture/video!

Fun fake video. The clue for me would be physics:  The kayak doesn't have the strength to hold up 2 ton at rest let alone with velocity. A two ton whale breach would have folded that kayak in half (if plastic) or cracked it (if fibreglas) and the paddler would have either been crushed or flipped into the whale at 15-20 mph and been knocked out or killed. You could probably fold your kayak if you jumped into it from 10 feet or so, may be more or less depending on your weight—the weight bearing limits of most of our plastic boats are around 350-400 pounds.

Just my  idea, but I think a KW that was angry would most likely just bite the kayak anyway (just like a GWS)—they have a mouth full of big teeth and they can eat GWS for a snack. Non-carnivorous whales probably breach for protection because they have plates not teeth.
